She has broke out the boredom and oppression of lyric prose in the period from 1950s to 1980s,promoted the development of humorous prose which flourished in 1930s,and formed her own style. She employs a long - distance perspective in the description and speculation on the cultural Revolution. Her prose is very detached and leisurely.
