    1、B。there be句型中，be后的名词等成分是真正的主语，决定了be的单复数。第二个空，number是主语，当然用is。2、A。坐车去，当让是ride，不可能是walk（步行）和flight（飞行）。至于D，坐在车里三个小时，有可能车没开，只是等人或休息。3、C。这是定语从句，where的先行词是hospital。而hospital在从句中作地点状语，要说he works as a doctor in a hospital，所以用where代替in a hospital。
